Quick answers for nominees, endorsers, and anyone curious about how the Awards work. Can't find your question? Email Soumyaraj Theo, the Awards Subcommittee Chair.
For nominees
Who can apply?+
Anyone of Tamil origin who is a resident of Australia. For business-category awards you must own a business. Full eligibility for each category is listed on the apply page.
Do I have to live in NSW?+
No — the 2026 Awards are open to applicants from every state and territory.
Can I apply to more than one category?+
Yes, if you qualify for more than one. Submit a tailored application for each — questions adapt to the category.
How long does the application take?+
Around 30 minutes. Most questions have word limits, and the more clearly you can speak to your work, the stronger your application will be. This is your opportunity to present yourself fully — a thorough response makes a real difference to your standing.
When does it close?+
Friday 31 July 2026 at 5pm AEST. Bookmark your application URL — you can come back any time before then to edit.
Do I get a copy of my application?+
Yes — once you submit, we email you a full copy, plus a link to edit until close.
What if I make a mistake after submitting?+
Open the edit link in your confirmation email any time before 31 July. Save your changes; the new version replaces the old.
Can I withdraw my nomination?+
Yes. Your confirmation email includes a withdraw option — you can remove your application entirely, any time before nominations close, no questions asked.
For endorsers
What does endorsing actually do?+
It records your support for the nominee. Each endorsement adds a visible name (just first names are shown publicly) to the community standing behind that nominee.
Does my endorsement decide who wins?+
No. An independent Selection Committee assesses each application on merit against published criteria. Public endorsements carry a weighting in the final score, but the committee holds the major say.
Can I endorse more than one nominee?+
Yes — there's no limit. One endorsement per nominee per person, but you can endorse multiple nominees across categories.
Why do you ask for my phone number?+
To prevent fraud — bots and spam endorsements pollute the signal. Phone number lets us catch duplicates without invading your privacy. We never share your details with third parties.
About the Awards
When and where is the gala?+
Saturday 3 October 2026 at Doltone House, Bossley Park (Sydney).
Who runs the Awards?+
The Australian Tamil Chamber of Commerce (ATCC) — a non-profit business chamber founded in 2016, with chapters in NSW, VIC and QLD. atcc.org.au.
How is judging done?+
An independent three-member Selection Committee assesses every application against the published criteria for each category. Judging is criterion-by-criterion on a 1–10 scale. A representative from the ATCC Board observes the process for governance compliance but does not influence outcomes.
Where are previous winners listed?+
We're currently compiling the roll of past winners and finalists and will publish it ahead of the 2026 gala.
Who do I contact if something's wrong?+
Awards subcommittee chair: Soumyaraj Theo. Email networking@atcc.org.au.
Your data & privacy
Where is my information stored, and is it held in Australia?+
Your application is stored in a secure, enterprise-grade cloud database hosted in Australia. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encrypted at rest. The database is never publicly accessible — it can only be reached by the platform’s server and authorised ATCC administrators.
How is my information protected?+
Access is strictly role-based: only the independent Selection Committee (and a Board observer, for governance) and ATCC Awards administrators can view applications, through authenticated logins. Every action is recorded in an audit log. Endorsers and the public only ever see the public endorsement page (first names only) — your contact details, financial figures and full answers are never shown publicly.
How will my information be used, and do you share or sell it?+
Your information is used solely to assess and administer the 2026 ATCC Awards. We never sell it, and we never share it with third parties for marketing. If you provide referees, they are only contacted — with your knowledge — if you are shortlisted.
Can I change my mind or have my data removed?+
Yes. You can edit or withdraw your application any time before nominations close using the link in your confirmation email. You can also request deletion of your data at any time by emailing networking@atcc.org.au.
